The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is delighted to have been chosen to receive the Muscular Dystrophy UK – Forest Bathing Garden which won a Gold medal and Best Show Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Each year, charities display gardens at the Cheslea Flower Show to help raise awareness of conditions. These gardens are displayed at the show and then donated to be replanted elsewhere.

Since receiving notification that the garden was to come to Glasgow, a massive operation was put into action to have the garden transported from Chelsea to Glasgow following the end of the show. One of the hospice’s long-term supporters, The Malcolm Group kindly agreed to transport the garden and staff are in the process of organising supplies of compost and other garden supplies to ensure we can accommodate the garden once it arrives. We have plans to clear donated land behind the hospice pond and expect to be able to have the garden replanted by the Autumn.

This is such an honour for both the hospice and for Glasgow to be the recipient of such prestigious gift. It will be of such a benefit to our patients, their families, and our communities to be able to visit and experience this truly unique garden.
