Breaking News - Bank of England holds rates

The Bank of England has announced the base rate will stay at 5.25% for at least another six weeks.

The Bank of England has held the base rate at 5.25% today with 6 members of the Monetary Policy Committee voting to keep the rate the same, whilst 3 voted for an increase.

It is the second time in a row the Bank has voted to hold the rate. This was after 14 consecutive rises.
